Genesis 17:8 NKJV - "Also I give to youand your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
Acts 7:5 NKJV - "And God gave him no inheritancein it, not even enough to set his foot on”
Hebrews 11:9, 13 NKJV - "By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; ... These all died in faith, not having received the promises...”
Answer:
The Lord God gave it as the inheritance and possession. Some were, futile in their faith and died. Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not food and drink”, the inner meaning in this is that the kingdom of God does not belong to the desires of the flesh. But, Abraham and the dynasty of Jacob the decedents of Abraham did not enter in the inheritance of the Lord, Canaan, by their unfaithful murmurs and pride, became slaves to the Egyptians and Philistines. Here, we must grasp that they lost the worthiness to enter in Canaan the inheritance of the Lord. At any time, man is alien. That means, at some point of time, he must leave this world, because the Lord God is our father. It is impossible to get His inheritance by revolting against Him. Because, when our father is aloof from us by our deeds, how can we ask that we have the inheritance in his property? Does it make any sense? It is also same. The man, with the acts and knowledge of atheism, asked, “Is there any inheritance of the Lord?” There is no meaning in this. Even then, are we not the dynasty of Abraham, who is living in the country Canaan! Abraham was the forefather of Christians, Jews and Arabians. Firstly, the Lord God gave Canaan as everlasting inheritance to Abraham and his dynasty. When their dynasties get this inheritance, it was under the heathen countries. So, the Lord gave it as the possession i.e., they occupied Canaan as their inheritance.
