Genesis 22:14 KJV - "And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen."[“The LORD” in the Old Testament always represents the Hebrew “Jehovah.” See Gen. 2:4: The LORD God made the earth and the heavens.]
Exodus 6:2-3 KJV - "And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them."
Answer:
“Jehovah – Jireh”, Abraham did not christen that place with Jehovah – Jireh by knowing the Lord’s name. “Jehovah-Jireh” means the Lord – Will – Provide. He christened this name by thinking that the spirit of the Lord is living in this place forever as the life provider, who fulfilled his sacrifice victoriously and saved his son. For Ex: Judges 15:17, “And so it was, when he had finished speaking that he threw the jaw bone from his hand and called that place Ramath Lehi”. Samson christened this place, in which he killed his enemies with the Jaw-bone, with this name. For this reason, it is a mistake to say that this is the name of *Rama!
*Rama: He is the god in the Hindu religion.
