Leviticus 23:14, 21, 31, 41 NKJV - "it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings."
Romans 7:6 NKJV - "But now we have been delivered from the law."
Answer:
Here, what do we understand from Romans 7:6? Whoever had the newness of the spirit is delivered from the law from his old state. It means whoever yields the spiritual fruits; he has no need of law. The spiritual fruits are, Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
But, to whom, is the Law of covenant awarded? Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV - "…adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries…”. The law of covenant is only applicable to the people who have above qualities.
Without differentiation, each and every country’s national law is following the law of covenant in some form in their reign and will continue to follow until the end of this world. The mother Theresa, who had the spiritual fruits, did not need the law of covenant.
“It shall be a statute ever”, is from the period of the Old Testament. So, in the period of the New Testament, we are delivered from law in the name of Christ. The Lord Christ fulfilled the covenant of law and delivered us from the law in spirit. Are there any people, who are delivered from the law in the Old Testament? Yes, there are. Isaiah 43:25 NKJV - ""I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.". Also, Ezekiel 18:23 NKJV - ""Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live?"
From this, what do we grasp? There is no difference between Old and the New Testaments. In the Old Testament also there is forgiveness. And also the Lord God Jehovah forgives the people, who repented from their sins. Ex: - The city of Nineveh. When Jonah preached about their destruction, they repented from their sins and got salvation from the Lord God.
